Book our ocean-edge hot tub area for the night - with a heated retro caravan covered patio and woodfired stove. Slide in and out of the driftwood fired freshwater hot tub (no chemicals) looking out on to the breaking surf through the leaves of giant flaxes.
No power - no noisy jets - just candlelight, lanterns, the moon and the southern stars. It's a place to lie back and dream and who knows you might spot one of our colony of little blue penguins living on the land at the other end!

This is one of the South Islands top rated day walks (4.5 hrs) which follows Charming Creek from the mountains to the Ngakawau River Gorge, and thence to the mighty Tasman Sea. It is rated easy is downhill from the top to the bottom, and follows two private heritage railroads from pioneering days with mining and sawmilling relics, sulphur springs, turbulent rapids and waterfalls, tunnels and spectacular bush.
Package offers: Two nights accommodation with three-course dinner the first night, and a private oceanside candlelit hot tub before bed. Day 2, transport to the top of track with a yummy picnic. Two breakfasts included. Second night dinner not included (dinner out at your expense at one of our local cafes.
