Set in an acre of sunny fenced grounds, the Millhouse is a private, stand alone 3-bedroomed house - sleeping a maximum of 8 people - overlooking the beautiful rural estuary and native bush of the Waikawa Harbour. It is a traditional old fashioned kiwi bach with a warm log fire and comfortable beds - ideal for a family escape, relaxing with friends, or a cosy hideaway for two. Conveniently located on the southern scenic route to explore the Catlins, the Millhouse is only 4 kms away from the stunning beach at Porpoise Bay - where you can surf, or just sit on the golden sands watching the rare Hector dolphins and sea lions - and Curio Bay where the yellow-eyed penguins inhabit the famous petrified forest. It is also within easy reach of the Cathedral Caves and some wonderful waterfalls. You can visit the Museum next door to find out everything you need to know about the area, its wildlife and the great walks available. The Niagara Falls cafe, where you can grab a coffee or a meal is a short drive away, and a drink is available at the Tokanui Tavern!
