Cedar House is a two-storeyed, Edwardian mansion originally built in 1909 for the prominent Muir family of Gisborne. Her chequered history includes periods of use as a private school for girls "St Winifred's", private hotels, and restaurants, before being transformed into Gisborne's leading bed and breakfast inn.

Located within walking distance to restaurants, harbour, museum, galleries and the stunning beach, this historic character home provides an atmosphere for leisure travellers as well as providing corporate groups with quiet surroundings to stimulate those creative minds. With 6 rooms and the self contained Pool House, Cedar House has a range of accommodation options to suit.

The beautiful Nikau room is very spacious with one KING SIZE BED.Views over the river and gardens. The ensuite bathroom has a seperate shower and King Size spa bath, making it the perfect place to unwind in the evening or re energize for the coming day.


The Pool House:

This self contained studio has it\'s own access from the pool area. Private and quiet with access to the facilities in the main house. The Pool House is the perfect place to unwind at the end of the day.

Kauri Room:

A very spacious room with direct access to the pool area. 4 Poster Queen size bed and ensuite bathroom. A great place to relax and unwind at the end of the day.

Matai Room:

The Matai room is located upstairs and has views over the river and city. The room is very spacious and bedding can be configured at 1 Queen or 2 Single beds. A beautiful place to relax and unwind.

RIMU ROOM:

A very spacious room with views over pool area and city. Queen size bed can be seperated into two single large shared bathroom with spa bath. A great place to relax and unwind at the end of the day.

Leadlight:

Located upstairs with views over the river. There is access on to the balcony and there is a TV in the Room With Sky TV Lead Light has its own private bathroom opposite the bedroom. It is a quiet peaceful hideaway with comfy queen bed and leather lazy.
