Erewhon Station is a 35,000 acre property at the top of the Rangitata Gorge. The Station includes a Clydesdale Horse Stud. This Country provided the magnificent backdrop for the Lord of the Rings movie "The Two Towers". Edoras, the capital of Rohan, was located on Mt Sunday at neighbouring Mt Potts Station. The Clydesdale's are an asset on Erewhon where we endeavour to use horses instead of vehicles. There is always plenty to see & do at the station all year round. As well as booking a wagon ride guests have easy access to the back country for walks, hunting, swimming, fishing, photography, mountain biking or just relaxing in a peaceful environment. Very warm, comfortable 4 bedroom house or 3 bedroom quarters. We have our own power scheme so keep heaters running at all times to keep cold and damp away from the house.
